Company History
Since 1962, Sevcon has been at the forefront of electric vehicle control establishing its first subsidiary in Paris, France in 1968. Sevcon was acquired by Tech/Ops in 1969.
The company also established an office in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1988, Tech/Ops Sevcon became a public company listed on the American stock exchange, and in 1990 a sales office was opened in Tokyo. In 1995, Sevcon reinforced the commitment to the merging Asian economies by opening a sales office in Seoul, Korea.
In 2000, Sevcon established Sevcon Asia limited in Seoul and six years later, Sevcon Japan KK in Tokyo.
In October 2009 Tech/Ops Sevcon began trading on the NASDAQ.
Today, Sevcon is a world leader in the design, manufacture, and marketing of electric motor control systems for battery powered vehicles.
